BUILDING NEW LIVES

Will you welcome them?

This time of year, families throughout our community are preparing for a new beginning. Backpacks are being filled. Classrooms are opening their doors. Students are stepping into a new school year filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and discover what comes next.

Here at the Springfield Rescue Mission, a new season of learning is beginning too.

Over the summer, we welcomed three new residents into our Mission family. Each man arrived with his own story, his own challenges, and his own hopes for a different future. And in many ways, they are students too, beginning a journey that will teach them new skills, strengthen their faith, build confidence, and prepare them for a more stable and productive life.

For a new resident, the first days at the Mission can feel a little like the first days of school.

There are new routines to learn. New expectations. New relationships. And sometimes, there is uncertainty about what lies ahead.

But there is also hope.

During their time with us, residents have opportunities to address the circumstances that brought them here while developing the tools they will need for the future. Through our New Life Program and other Mission services, men can grow spiritually, strengthen important life skills, pursue educational opportunities, prepare for employment, and learn how to build healthier, more independent lives.

Progress does not happen overnight. It happens one lesson, one decision, one encouraging conversation, and one day at a time.

And you are part of every step.

Because you have consistently stood alongside the Springfield Rescue Mission, men, like Brandon, Will, and Alex, arrive at our doors today and have somewhere to begin again.

Your gift provides much more than food on a plate. It provides the stability that makes everything else possible.

A meal says, “You are welcome here.”

A bed says, “You are safe tonight.”

A class says, “You can learn something new.”

A mentor says, “Keep going.”

And your support says, “Your future is worth investing in.”

As these three newest residents begin their journey, would you consider making a special gift today?

Your generosity will help provide meals and shelter while also supporting the programs, staff, education, guidance, and daily care that help men move towards lasting change.

Thank you for continuing to believe in this Mission and in the men who walk through our doors searching for a new beginning.

Together, we are providing more than a meal.

We are helping provide a path forward.
