Men’s Emergency Shelter
The Springfield Rescue Mission’s 43-bed Men’s Emergency Shelter is located at 148 Taylor Street, Springfield providing homeless men nutritious meals, safe shelter, counseling and referrals to community resources as needed – FREE OF CHARGE. The Emergency Shelter operates at capacity nearly every night of operation and serves approximately 500 individual men annually, ages 18 and older.
To reserve a bed call the Rescue Mission at 413-732-0516 or 413-732-0808. Intake begins at 3PM. Showers are mandatory. Dinner is served at 5PM. Lights out at 10PM. No leaving the facility after checking in. Breakfast is served at 7AM and all guests must vacate the facility by 8AM. Guests are provided with nutritious meals, safe shelter and hygiene items as well as clothing, counseling and referrals to community resources as needed.
Meals
The Springfield Rescue Mission makes meals available to anyone in need – men, women and children – FREE OF CHARGE. We provide thousands of meals annually to individuals and families in need through our various programs.
- Public Breakfast: Monday – Saturday, 7AM-7:45AM, 10 Mill Street, Springfield. We serve a well-balanced, full breakfast to hungry men, women and children, six days per week. No prerequisites required.
- Public Lunch: Monday – Saturday, 12:30PM-1:00PM, 10 Mill Street, Springfield. We serve a well-balanced, full lunch to hungry men, women and children, six days per week. No prerequisites required.
- Operation SONshine: A mobile food service bringing lunches to the homeless and residents in Greater Springfield communities. We deliver on average 150 nutritious meals each day of operation.
- Holiday Meals: Special holiday meals for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Please call our office for dates and times 413-732-0808. Over 2,300 individuals are served at a sit-down holiday meal during Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas season annually.
Clothing
The Give Away Center distributes gently used clothing, coats, shoes and other items to men, women and children FREE OF CHARGE.

Items available: Gently used clothing, coats, shoes, household items (sheets, dishes, small appliances). We also have new hygiene items, underwear, socks, t-shirts available if in stock.
Men’s New Life Rehabilitation Program
The Men’s New Life Rehabilitation Program provides a comprehensive approach to overcoming homelessness, addiction and other life issues… ALL FREE OF CHARGE.

The Men’s New Life Rehabilitation Program is a year-long, Biblically- based curriculum. The program staff work individually with residents to help them resolve a large number of problems so they can return to the community and sustain a productive life. The Springfield Rescue Mission’s facility at 10 Mill Street has a capacity to accommodate 60 men.
