Our Impact

The goal of the Springfield Rescue Mission, since 1892, is to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the hungry, homeless, addicted, and poor by introducing them to Christ and helping them apply the Word of God to every area of their lives. The Springfield Rescue Mission provides food, shelter, clothing and Christian rehabilitation, free of charge to over 7,800 people annually through our Men’s Emergency Shelter, Men’s Rehabilitation Program and Emergency Service Programs for men, women and children.

In 2018, Springfield Rescue Mission Provided:

278,264 Meals, 15,228 Shelter Beds, and 77,662 Items of Clothing

Individual Program

  • Men’s New Life Rehabilitation Program (6,165 beds)
  • Emergency Shelter for men (9,063 beds)
  • Transitional Living Program for men
  • Give Away Center (1,749 men, women, & children)
  • Operation SONshine (22,200 meals)
  • Public Breakfast (11,460 meals)
  • Holidays Meals (Easter-508, Thanksgiving-389, Christmas-765)

Facilities

  • Rehabilitation Program and Business Offices: 10 Mill Street, Springfield (60 beds)
  • Emergency Shelter: 148 Taylor Street, Springfield, first floor (43 beds)
  • Transitional Living Facility: 148 Taylor Street, Springfield, second floor (17 beds)

21,700 volunteer hours have been donated, saving SRM $603,694
